Canada with Cruises

Canada is flanked by both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.  Consider Canada with a cruise.  A New England, Maritimes cruise takes you from Montreal to Boston on Holland America’s Maasdam. Western Canada’s beauty is breathtaking from the water. Prior to staying in and departing from Montreal is a visit to Ottawa, Canada’s capital city. Following your trip on the Maasdam, enjoy the charming city of Quebec City where you will feel like you are in Europe as you stroll along her quaint streets filled with shops, vendors and cafes. Stops in Charlottetown, Canada’s home to Anne of Green Gables, Sydney and Halifax follow and the cruise culminates with a day in the New England coastal town of Bar Harbor, the home of Acadia National Park before arriving in Boston.

In in the East, cruise the Alaska Inside Passage round trip from Vancouver.  You will feel like a pampered guest the moment you step aboard Holland America’s Volendam. Pre and post options include travel by rail across Canada on VIA Rail.  Relax and enjoy the passing scenery as well as the many activies offered during your cruise. Cruise up Tracy Arm, a narrow 26 mile long fjord with dramatic glaciers that create icebergs of every size and shape before arriving in Juneau. Combine your cruise with rail trip to Skagway and enjoy a Yukon adventure. Glacier Bay stops will take you through passages that bring you close to the rock walls and under high cliffs. Prior to cruising the inside passage will be a stop at Ketchikan before arriving in Vancouver.

There are options to stay in the Canadian Rockies too and travel by train on either Rocky Mountaineer or VIA Rail. Another option is to cruise inland Canada aboard on an authentic steamship on either the St. Lawrence Seaway or Ottawa River.  Visit Ottawa, Kingston, Toronto and Quebec city along the way.
