See the floats as they are being built, marvel the “Glory of Christmas” performance at the Crystal Cathedral, enjoy a Los Angeles Grand City Tour, and of course The Rose Parade itself including our “Post Parade” viewing of the floats. We are also offering an optional 3 day extension to San Diego. ABOUT YOUR HOTEL  The Doubletree Hotel/South Bay is located in the heart of Torrance financial and shopping district offering luxurious Southern California accommodations. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport. The Del-Amo Mall is located across the street with over 300 shops and restaurants, including a movie theater and bowling alley.

YOUR DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
(subject to change) MONDAY – DECEMBER 29, 2008 - Arrive Los Angeles (Welcome Reception) Welcome to Los Angeles and Cartan’s 2009 Rose Parade celebration. Cartan Tours will be providing transfers from Los Angeles International Airport to the Doubletree Hotel/South Bay in Torrance between the hours of 9am and 4:30pm. We will have a Cartan staff representative to meet and greet you at the airport and direct you to the pick-up area. If you are arriving outside these hours or are adding extra nights, you will have to take a taxi to the hotel. The cost will be about $25.00. The hotel is 20 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport. This evening we will have a welcome reception at the hotel where we will provide you with light snacks and soft dinks. A Cartan Staff member will provide you with your tickets, seat cushion, and program, as well as answer any questions you might have. This is a great time to meet your Cartan Tours Staff Manager and other members of your group. TUESDAY – DECEMBER 30, 2008 (Breakfast) Float Construction Viewing, The Glory of Christmas Pageant Most mornings the hotel provides an American breakfast buffet. Following breakfast we begin our exciting tour with a trip to Pasadena. Once there you will have enough time to view up-close and in living color the actual construction of these beautiful floats. You will be amazed to see the detail of the vast array of flowers, seeds, and natural materials that cover these massive floats. “Fanfest” activities vary from year to year but they always provide some tasty food and provide a chance to buy official Rose Parade souvenirs. We will return to the hotel to relax and freshen up prior to departing for Garden Grove and the Crystal Cathedral for “The Glory of Christmas” pageant, telling the story of the birth of Jesus. The performance is unparalleled. You will be astounded when you see live camels walking onto the stage, and be delighted by flying angels. We return to the hotel after the performance giving you ample time to have dinner. The hotel has a restaurant or the Del-Amo Mall is across the street with a variety of eating establishments from which to choose. WEDNESDAY - DECEMBER 31, 2008 Los Angeles Grand City Tour and New Years Eve Dinner (Breakfast & Dinner) After breakfast we take you on a sightseeing tour of some of L.A.’s famous spots. Some of the attractions you will see are: Hollywood, Walk of Fame, Hollywood Bowl, Grauman’s Chinese Theater, Kodak Theater, Hollywood & Highland Center, Sunset Strip, Rodeo Drive, The Beverly Center, Farmer’s Market & The Grove, La Brea Tar Pits, Miracle Mile, Olvera Street, Music Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, China Tour, The Hollywood Sign, and MORE! Dinner will be provided tonight. If later in the evening you decide to see how Californians welcome in the New Year, you will find a number of nightspots close to the hotel. THURSDAY – JANUARY 1, 2009 Rose Parade (Breakfast & Boxed Lunch) 
An early morning is in order as you do not want to miss a moment of the 2009 Rose Parade. Cartan’s Rose Parade package always includes top category reserved parade seats. We have reserved grandstand seats on West Colorado. This puts you at the start of the parade. From this vantage point, the smell of flowers fills the air. The bands are in tune, the floats are ready and you are about to experience the thrill of watching the Rose Parade! After the parade, enjoy a delicious boxed lunch as we return to the hotel. This afternoon, we will offer those who are interested a visit to one of the local beach communities. The coaches will stay a couple hours, so you will have a chance to see the ocean and walk along the boardwalk. OR
You may purchase our optional “Post-Parade Showcase of Floats” package. This is a limited opportunity to view the floats after they complete the parade route. We are offering this package for an additional $25.00 per person. Following the parade, we will take you to this special viewing at Victory Park. The viewing of the floats is a self-directed, walking tour. Guests who elect to purchase this package should note that our coaches will depart Pasadena about 4pm. It will be a long day, but for flower-lovers, we are sure a rewarding one. Reservations for “Post-Parade Showcase of Floats” will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
