Day 1 - Calgary to Banff

Welcome to Calgary.  The Budget rental office is right on the airport.  Keep your luggage cart and walk over to collect your car.  Your destination is the historic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. The area is rich in the history of the Springs and the story of how Banff has developed from a railroad stop to one of the best known resorts in the world.

Day 2 - Banff at Leisure

Be sure you see Bow Falls, the Cave and Basin, Tunnel Mountain and maybe a gondola ride up the side of Sulphur Mountain.  You could take a soak in the naturally heated Upper Hot Springs, or just take a leisurely cruise on Lake Minnewanka.

Day 3 - Banff to Jasper  

Enroute to Jasper, you travel along the Icefields Parkway, named one of the most scenic highways in North America.  Your destination, the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, has been named one of the ten best resorts in the world.  An afternoon arrival will still leave time for a walk around the lake or a chance to explore the grounds before a leisurely dinner.

Day 4 - Jasper at Leisure

The Lodge has one of the finest golf courses in Canada.  When the Lodge installed a sprinkler system, the local elk population thought it was done on their behalf.  Bring your camera, as munching elk are not unusual.  In addition to great golfing, you can bike, swim, hike, or go horse back riding.  Consider a visit to Mt. Edith Cavell, secluded Maligne Lake or rafting on the Athabasca River.

Day 5 - Jasper to Lake Louise

Your reluctance to leave Jasper will pass, as you travel south through some of the most beautiful vistas found anyplace on the globe.  A stop at the awesome Athabasca Glacier for a Ice Explorer ride on this prehistoric river of endless ice is highly recommended. Your destination is the beautiful Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Day 6 - Lake Louise at Leisure

The breathtaking aura of the Rockies is yours to revel in today.  The Lake Louise ski area offers rides on their chair lifts that take you to lofty heights for spectacular views.  Visit the Valley of the Ten Peaks to view lovely Moraine Lake and be sure to leave time to enjoy the serenity of the turquoise waters of Lake Louise.

Day 7 - Lake Louise/home
