VIA Rail - VIA 1 Service

DAY 1 – ARRIVE TORONTO

Included in your package is transportation from the airport to your hotel.  The Fairmont Royal York puts you in the heart of Toronto and across the street from the train station.

Overnight – Fairmont Royal York

 

DAY 2 – TORONTO, ONTARIO

There is so much to see and do in Toronto!  Your hop on/hop off tour of Toronto will take you to all of the highlights of the city allowing you to choose where you would like to spend more or less time at the various points of interest.

DAY 3 – TORONTO TO MONTREAL

The VIA Rail station is across the street from the hotel. You are confirmed in VIA 1 class (First Class) for your 5 hour journey to Montreal.  Sit back and relax as your train travels through Ontario and into Quebec.  Arriving Montreal you will find the Queen Elizabeth above the station.

DAY 4 – MONTREAL, QUEBEC

The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth is centrally located to shopping, restaurants and tourist activities in Montreal.  A city highlight tour has been confirmed for you to enjoy.

DAY 5- MARITIME & NEW ENGLAND CRUISE

You have most of the day to enjoy Montreal as your cruise departs at 5:00pm.  A short taxi ride to the pier will be necessary.

DAY 6 – QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC

Bonjour, bienvenue to Quebec City!  Quebec City is the most charming city in North America.  You will feel like you are in Europe, with the quaint streets, vendors and cafes.  We have included a tour of the city and nearby area leaving you with plenty of time to explore the city on your own as well.

 

DAY 7 – SCENIC CRUISING SAGUENAY FJORD, QUEBEC

The Saguenay Fjord is one of the largest but one of least known Fjord’s in the world.  Chances are good to see Beluga Whales in this remarkable ecosystem.

 

DAY 8 – CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

Charlottetown is the birthplace of Canada.  Near the pier is Confederation Hall which details the history of how Canada became a nation.  Many shops boutiques are within walking distance of the ship.  Should you want to see a bit more of the surrounding area, check with the purser for port excursions.

 

DAY 9 – SYNDEY, NOVA SCOTIA

Holland American offers selected shore excursions, check with the tour desk for more information.

 

DAY 10 – HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA

Your kilted guide will guide you through Halifax and immerse you in it’s history and culture.  Discover the places and people that make Halifax one of the most captivating cities in North America.

 

DAY 11 – BAR HARBOR, MAINE

Bar Harbour is tucked into a cove in the shade of Acadia National Park and is the quintessential New England coastal town.  Bike rides, kayaking, lobster bakes, and taffy are some of the tempting delights of this lovely port.

 

DAY 12 – BOSTON/HOME

We hope you have enjoyed your tour and cruise to Eastern Canada and New England.
